Many people don’t intervene because they fear judgment or retribution.  Being an ally means supporting the “others.” Being an advocate means speaking up when nobody is watching. It means speaking up because it’s the right thing to do. It means acting and not just standing by in the face of judgment or retribution. It means standing up, speaking up, and acting up.
